4 Reactions to "The Secret", Which Is Basically The Law Of Attraction . . .
And My Responses To Each

I have bought and given away several copies of "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. I mainly get one of four responses from the people to whom I have given them.

"I can only read it so long, then I have to put it up. It is a very thoughtful book and I want to digest everything I read before I move on."

"It just keeps saying the same thing over and over."

"I'm afraid it interferes with my religion."

"I LOVE this book!"

Have you read "The Secret"? Which of the four responses would be yours?

Well, if it's the first, "I can only read it so long, then I have to put it up. It is a very thoughtful book and I want to digest everything I read before I move on." -- that's totally understandable. I applaud that you don't just keep plodding ahead, but that you wait until you understand what you are reading, then move on. That's the way to learn.

"It just keeps saying the same thing over and over, so I stopped reading." Hm. Do you think that the reason it keeps saying the same thing over and over is that everyone is different, and the more approaches you offer, the more people you reach? I venture to say that if you kept reading, you would have learned what you need to learn to make your life a better one.

"I'm afraid it interferes with my religion." Let's look at cars. Cars will all get you where you want to go, but you have to find the right owner's manual for the car you have. God does not keep you from learning about cars, about life, about the world. He offers you several "owner's manuals" and the one that will help you live life to the fullest is the one he wants you to use. That's what "The Secret" is -- an owner's manual. If you can honestly say that you are happy, then you really don't need to read "The Secret". But I think you will have a better life if you open yourself up to new possibilities and keep God at your side as you do.
