A bunch of cells getting together to block up your system. If you can imagine a cell, then imagine a bunch of cells all getting together to block up your arteries, your lungs, your heart, your kidneys, your gall bladder, and everything else from doing their jobs. Give them a color, a size, a shape, a texture, a smell, and a taste. Yes, a taste. Yuck, huh?

See, the purpose behind giving them an entity, which is what you just did, is so you can get rid of them. If you can't see (imagine) them, you can't get rid of them. Give them an entity, so that entity can dissolve or whatever you choose to happen to them in the paragraphs below.

Note: Keep in mind that nothing you visualize has to be exact. A layman doesn't know what a heart really looks like unless he or she studies it. The same with the kidneys, etc. Just do your best to visualize whatever you can and know that that is where the work will be accomplished.

What does it make you feel like when you first learn you have this little problem?

(And yes, we must think of cancer, or any other debilitating disease, as a *little problem*, so that we can deal with it. If we think it is a * huge, unable to be defeated* problem, we will have trouble thinking we can handle it, right?)

So, what does it make you feel like? A victim? Does it give you a *I can't do anything about this* feeling of despair? Do you have a *I know what comes next* thought pattern as you remember and visualize what has happened to your friends or family that has gone through this? Or do you think about the horror stories you've heard about or seen on TV?

My goodness, where does that get you? Agony, right? You don't want to be a victim, do you?

OK. Time to do something about it! Time to get on with the healing.

But what can you do? You're not a doctor? You don't know anything about healing? Well, even if you are a doctor, and even if you know some things about healing, this article will give you a new lease on life. It will help get you out of the victim mentality and into an *I can handle it* attitude.

So, are you ready? Great!

Here's a regiment for you that is easy to do, and you need to remember that you have to stick with it and be very consistent. Make sure you talk it over with your doctor, however, and let's hope he's a progressive doctor who knows how visualization can help bring miracles to the body.

Every morning before you take your medication, sit or lie down and relax for fifteen minutes. Start each session out by breathing slowly and counting on each exhale: 3 3 3 -- 2 2 2 -- 1 1 1. Then, 10 9 8, then 7 6 5, then 4 3 2, then 1 1 1.

Now that you are relaxed, visualize an outline of your body with all the cancer cells inside. Now, see those cancer cells begin to dissolve.

Note: Here's were we can be flexible. You can either see them dissolve, or see them float away, or see them burn up, or see them turn into smoke and disappear. Whatever works best for you, watch this process happen for fifteen minutes.

Repeat this process every mid-day, maybe around 1 p.m. or so, when your stomach has had a chance to process your lunch, and you aren't so tired. We don't want you to go to sleep while doing this, so maybe you will say something to yourself when you start to relax, like "My body is relaxed, but my mind is alert."

Repeat this fifteen minute process again at night, just before you go to sleep.

There, now you know what to do to help your body heal. Now, I will show you some things you can do to keep your mind healthy.

Sometimes, we worry without meaning to. What does worry bring? More worry. So, learn to be happy. What can happy do for you? Nothing bad. And that's very important. When you find yourself worrying, stop right there and smile. Then, continue on with what you were doing.

If you feel the need to be active, every morning have a regiment of walking around the house, or outside if you like, for fifteen minutes. The first five minutes, practice good breathing that gives your body a chance to heal. Breathe in four short breaths through your nose without letting it out. Then, on the exhale, breathe out your nose four short breaths. Do this for five minutes.

Then next five minutes, start each sentence out with *I am so happy and so very grateful, I have (am, can . . . Whatever). And be thankful for all that you list.

Then the last five minutes, start each sentence out with *I am so happy and so very grateful, I have (am, can . . . Whatever) and list everything you want. This last list is your projection of everything you want coming to you. Be creative. Be happy for lots of money, lots of good health, lots of new things.

There, have we given your mind enough to work with? So, now it won't be burdened with the old *I'm sick and I'm going to die, and I have no control over my body* thought process? I mean, all this might have been true a minute ago when you had the old thought patterns. But now you have a chance to live life with you in control.

Remember this: If any thought like that comes along, chase it away with *I now release the pattern in my consciousness that is creating resistance to my good.*

Worry causes more diseased cells that cause blockages. Worry is to be avoided at all cost!

Editor's Note: If you cannot see or don't understand what visualization is all about, please read *What If Life Doesn't Hand You A Lemon? Imagine It Anyway!* http://www.tameyourbrain.com/lemon.htm

NOTE: You must keep up with your doctor's appointments. Do not, I repeat, do NOT expect this to take the place of regular doctor's visits. Let your doctor be a gauge of how well you are doing with your visualization. Feel good about this.

Please pass this on to a friend. Help them take away the feeling of helplessness.

If you would like to read more about cancer, here is a book I would like to recommend, "The Cure For All Cancers: Including over 100 Case Histories of Persons Cured" by Dr. Hulda Regehr Clark. If you want to live in the moment, you can't let something that is not in that moment BE in that moment.

Let's say you wanted to go somewhere, but you aren't feeling well, and you know, from past experiences, it will only get worse.

Well, you know what? That *past experience* is not who you are now -- that *past experience* is MAYBE who you were then. (And, actually, it really is just a MAYBE.)

Are we interested in who you were then? No. We are interested in who you are NOW.

If that is true, and it is, then why are you thinking about what was? Why not just let old memories dissolve and disappear?

Can you do that?

Yes!

OK. Let's do it now. Here's how:
Put that old thought about how sick you are and how sick you will probably be, along with the picture you have in your head of how you've been so sick before, in a cloud -- a cloud covered with a fine mist.

Now the mist is raising the cloud. That cloud is rising higher and higher. It had something in it, didn't it? What was it? You can't see it, can you?

Oops, it's trying to poke through.

Color it with crayons of different colors on all sides. Now, you can't see it, can you?

Ooops. You say it's still coming through?

Do you do fireworks? You know what fireworks would do to that, don't you? Kabam!

If that doesn't work, attach a long string to the cloud. Mentally light the bottom of the string, and watch as the flames leap up and the whole thing burns to nothing.

Now, you realize you're doing this all in your mind, don't you? In your mind you can do anything.
DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to get rid of that cloud holding that old thought. If you are still having a problem, do this: Blow up a balloon, put ALL of this in it, and then let it shoot clear up to the moon when you release the air.

You finally got rid of it, didn't you? Good.

Now, go back to living in the moment. You are feeling better and better. You don't remember any of that old stuff, because each time an old, unsupporting thought comes up, you let it go.

Once it's gone, concentrate on your pulse. Be very quiet until all you can hear is your pulse beat.

At this very moment, isn't your life in it's perfect place?

Relax and enjoy this time, and let your old negative thoughts about health disappear. Feel the peace and enjoy life.

Now, I ask you, why would you want to spend your time letting old thought patterns come up, when it feels so much better imagining a perfect life? Why not spend your time attracting that perfect, healthy life, instead of reliving your old, predictably unhealthy life?

Remember, if you are reliving the parts of your old life that you didn't, and don't, like or want, you are attracting the very things you don't want.

If you take the time and effort to change your view of reality, your brain will put in the time and effort to make your reality become your view.

Thanks for reading,

Jan

P.S. Do you look old? Do you think old? Does that mean your memory is going, you feel weak or out of control every once in a while (some people more than others), your joints hurt? You are not alone. Unfortunately.

I'm over 60, so it seems that every time I get together with certain friends, age is inevitably discussed. I cringe inwardly and get very busy going "Cancel, Cancel!" in my mind. (The Cancel Technique instructions are below.)

This is some of what's said:

"That's what happens when you get old." ""Especially at your age." "Act your age, old man/lady." "I can't remember anything. Al's been visiting." "What's the matter? You got A?" (Both are a reference to Alzheimer's Disease. It's almost an invitation for it to happen to you for real.)

What do each of those sentences say to your brain?

Your mind does the thinking. Your mind is in charge of your brain. Your brain is in charge of your body. So what you think is very important to your body.

Your brain is in charge of your nerves. If your mind tells your brain that it is getting old, your brain will relay the process of getting old to the nerves, usually more quickly than needed. Do you want that?

Let's go back to your friends again. Now, you're sitting there and feeling old with your best friends. They are in effect telling you how life is going to be for you. Not only for you, but for everyone that is listening.

Of course, your response to reading the paragraph above might be, "No they aren't. I know it doesn't have to be that way."

But it is going to be that way for you, unless you do something.

And you're saying, "I don't believe that"

Very good! You're telling me, and ultimately your brain, that you don't believe it. Isn't that terrific? You are taking control.

But that isn't how it is when you are talking to your friends, is it?

You're not on your guard then. You are letting everything slip through. You laugh at the jokes about Alzheimer's. You make your own jokes about memory. "You can tell me anything and it'll be news to me." "You can tell me that joke tomorrow. I'll bet I'll think it's funny all over again." "I can hide my own Easter eggs!" "I don't see reruns anymore."

You can joke about all the infirmities that happen to "old" people. "Do you have to go to the bathroom or can you hold it? Answer: Depends." "Do you want to go golfing or is Art visiting?" A reference to arthritis. Again, almost an invitation. Some prefer to joke about it, "while they can." What kind of a mind set is that?

Some people accept that this happens to everyone who grows old. That it is inevitable. NOT!

Hey, everyone grows older. When a person grows older, so do their friends, but some in entirely different ways. By the time a person IS "old," he or she feels like they "know" what is going to happen for the rest of their lives. Some pretty much accept it. They feel that if "this" happens, "that" happens, then when "that" happens, "this" happens, and that's the way life is as you grow older.

Wrong.

If you can think, you can change your life.

Yes, people grow old. Some grow old fighting it all the way, hating it. Some grow old gracefully and lovingly, AND healthy.

Unfortunately, a lot of people unwittingly encourage the reactions they think growing old causes. "I know when so and so reached 40 or 50 or 60 or 70 years old, her body just plain broke down. She got arthritis, she had a hysterectomy, her stomach kept getting upset, and on and on. Then almost that same thing happened to so and so and so and so and so." They then reach what they feel is the logical conclusion that, therefore, when they turn 40 or 50 or 60 or 70, all that stuff will happen to them too. You know the progression, you invite the progression, you encourage the progression. The progression begins to be you. Either consciously or unconsciously.

Well, it's time to stop it, isn't it? Here's what you can do:

First, look at the picture you want of yourself when you are older. It's a picture of love, self-confidence, high self-esteem, flexibility, strong bones, and prosperity in mind, body and soul. "If those words don't describe what you want, substitute the words that do."

Second, think of the thoughts that are going through your mind.

Take them one at a time. Does this thought help you to BE your picture?

Third, if it does, that's terrific! Rejoice! If it doesn't, continue to the fourth step.

Fourth, raise your arms and yell, "CANCEL! CANCEL!" " It's a lot like someone scratching a phonograph record. You don't want to listen to a scratched record, your brain won't want to listen to these thoughts if they cause you to "CANCEL! CANCEL!" It's like scratching the brain."

Fifth, immediately think of an affirmation or two that you like. They could be "I love. I am loving. I am loved." or "I love myself and all creation." or "Every day in every way, I am better, better, and better." If you've been reading my articles for a while, you know these are my favorite. However, you must use affirmations that YOU like. Fill the place in your brain that used to hold negative thoughts, with positive affirmations.

There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. No matter what you do, if you live another year, you have grown a year older. If you haven't gotten smarter, you haven't lived. I say, if you're alive, why not live life to the fullest?

How about programming tomorrow to be a day to enjoy?

You can still go for coffee and enjoy your relationships, but now you show by example that YOU don't want to think "old" thoughts. Simply don't participate in saying them.

Don't laugh when you hear them -- a good analogy might be that that type of laughter is another nail in the coffin, your friend's or your coffin, who knows? People will see that you have something good going here. When they are ready to learn and to change, show them this article. When they look at you and the changes you've made in your life, they will know that it is possible. One more thing, make sure to help them along the way on their journey. They, and their family, will thank you for it.

Thanks for reading,
Jan

P.S. Just look around your life and see what has manifested. If it's happening -- if you've manifested aches/pains/illnesses -- you have a program in your mind that says it should happen, it should manifest.

For instance, do you get sick often and easily, do you hurt yourself easily? If you do, then that's in your programming.

Don't blame yourself for how you are programmed. Just read on and learn. This knowledge can change your life.

You did not choose your programming. I repeat, you did not choose your programming. You must accept that before you can change.

Your life basically boils down to this: What you are is a culmination of the people or situations you came into contact with when you were young and just beginning to "program" your life. NOTE: It might not have been a person you actually know who programmed you in some things. It could have been a favorite TV show, radio personality, an idol of some sort, whatever.

But, guess what. You're not in that vulnerable stage so much anymore. Now, you can make your own mature decisions. You can now take charge of your life. When you look at something, or think about something, now, you realize that nothing is actually good or bad, but thinking makes it so. What does this do? It gives you a chance to examine what you are letting into your life!

Now, there will be more times than not that you realize, "I can let this go. This illness, this anger, this judgment, isn't what I want in my programming." And then, let it go.

You need to let the untruthful programs come to conscious awareness, then dissolve. This means that you have to think about them without resistance, check it out, and make the decision to keep it, or to let it go. If it's something you used to hate, don't jump up and down and get all bothered with it -- let it go. If you get angry with it, you are keeping it. Let it go.

Do you feel you have to "be in control" of everything? Well, then, feel the peace of "being in control" by making the decision to let it go. Have this be your thought pattern, "Let it go. Feel the peace. Let it go. Feel the peace. Let it go. Feel the peace."

Once you learn to do that, you are releasing blockages that have made you susceptible to aches/pains/illnesses. You have taken control of your life.

TIP: If you would like to know more about releasing, go over to http://www.freeachesandpainstips.com/recommend/sedona.htm and read about the Sedona Method. At Home, At Work, On A Daily Basis?
~ By Jan Tincher

Do you get depressed easily?

If you do, ask yourself not "why" are you depressed, but "how" are you depressed.

Now, don't look at me like I'm crazy. I just happen to think it's interesting to know "how" a person gets depressed.

I would just like to know, if I were in your body, "how" would I get depressed.

What would I be seeing in my mind? Everything going wrong, no doubt?

What would I be saying to myself? That everything IS going wrong?

Would my shoulders be slumped, and would I speak in a low and dejected tone of voice?

Now, pretend you can see me mirroring you. I'm seeing everything in my mind that's going wrong in my life right now. I'm backing that up by what I'm saying to myself. Yep, everything IS wrong. I look very depressed, my posture is slumped, my eyes are down, my expression is terrible.

Yep. That's depressing all right.

Then, I realize I am "very" depressed! What the heck am I doing? Watch as I stand up and shake it off. I put one foot a little ahead of the other, stand on the balls of my feet and bounce, I shake my arms and body to get rid of the depressing situation I had found myself in, I clench my fist and feel the power. Yes!!!

Hey, what happened here? Am I depressed? Not anymore. I am solution oriented!

Now, it's time for you to do that, too. Realize what you are doing to yourself by sitting that way and thinking those thoughts. It's time for you to make an intelligent decision. Time for you to do something -- anything that isn't sitting in that same posture and thinking those thoughts. Try the power stance mentioned above.

Depression is caused by many things, but you "enable" that depression by being in a depressed posture, by seeing depressing things in your mind, and by saying depressing things to yourself in a way that KEEPS you depressed. Wow!

Here's something that maybe you didn't know. Once you know "how" you get depressed, you can change.

Once you change one thing, the rest tends to change too.

Here's an exercise: Just for the heck of it, start by speeding up your tone of voice and raising the pitch. Already you're not as "depressed" as you were, are you? Straighten up your posture, raise your head and look around, and put a smile on your face. Feel the difference? It may not change the situation, but it sure as heck changes your outlook. Sometimes, that's all you need. Remember this and use it.

Remember: If you don't get rid of depression, it affects your body. Take care of your mind and your brain will take care of your body.

~~~~~~~~~
Save this article and show it to your friends. Be a friend, maybe tell them to call you whenever they feel depressed. And guess what? That the very act of calling will change their physiology -- body language, which starts off other changes! Set some rules if you must. Tell them to just call up and say "Hi!" And to only tell you something good that has happened to them in the last week. This will get them to focus on good things.
This isn't meant to be a cure all for depression that runs deep. That type of depression would probably need one on one professional help. But for most people, this is all they need. A friend and a direction to go. Continue to direct them to the good, and soon they'll be able to find their own way.
Thanks for reading,
Jan
P.S. Most people tend to be fairly gung-ho about taking off the weight at the beginning of the year, but as the days starting passing interest in breaking a hard and nasty sweat tend to fizzle or the body just gets plain-out burned-out. Don't let either happen to you! Stick to your goal by doing whatever you need to the healthy way. The answer could be something as easy as a change of scenery, so why not take a fitness vacation? Lifetimetv.com has a fantastic list of 10 activities including locations where interested parties can join a yoga retreat, cycle through vineyards, hike up hills, and paddle in Belize. Working out in the gym is good, but wouldn't it be great to escape and lose weight? Perhaps I am the only one who thinks so.
Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
Google Earth and GPS
Filed under: Biking
This is a pretty cool Google mashup for the biking crowd. Mark my words, watching the tide come up while eating fish tacos and drinking Coronas in Mexico is a fine way to pass an afternoon. But I will admit it's not the most active way to spend a day. For that, you might consider riding mountain bikes in Baja. These guys do it and have a kick ass time cruising old mule trails and chomping tortillas in the shade. Key word there: shade. I warn you, it's hot as hell down there, so fill up your water bottles. And after a good day of riding, THEN pick yourself up a case of Corona.
Permalink | Email this | Comments
<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://tameyourbrain.com/bloglarmstrongbiking/2007/03/biking-im-waiting-mr-president-great.html' title='Biking - I'm waiting, Mr. President Great news! He's amazing, courageous, the quintessence of cool (in an athletic way, of course). Yes, he just finished the New York City marathon in under three hours, a very impressive feat for a guy who's used to having a seat under his arse when he exerts himself. Working with French outdoor advertising firm JCDecaux SA -- which received access to more than 1600 publicity sites in exchange for providing the bikes -- the City plans to have in excess of 14,000 bikes by this summer, and more than 20,000 by the end of 2007. To borrow a bike, users visit one of the 1400+ stations around the city, hand over a swipe-card, get a bike, and roll away. Bikes may be returned at any station.
This sounds like a great idea to lower pollution. However, I wonder if thousands of cycling tourists, confused by unfamiliar signage, disoriented by winding cobbled roads, and dazzled by the beautiful buildings surrounding them, will cause more headaches for Paris than it resolves.
My prediction? By the end of the year, every intersection currently manned by art vendors will have boys with tire tools and pumps showcasing their wares. I wonder if JCDecaux SA secured the rights to advertise for all the bike repairmen.
What do you think? Is this idea a magnifique way to pump up the city's image, or is it stupide, certain to deflate?
Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
Biking - Andes Photo GalleryFiled under: Biking, Photos, South America, Argentina, BoliviaHaving
Andes Photo Gallery
Filed under: Biking, Photos, South America, Argentina, Bolivia
Having spent over a year living in Chile way back when, I can attest that the Andes Mountains are a photographer's dream. The scale of these towering peaks and gaping valleys are like nothing most of us know wen we think of mountains. This hemisphere's largest mountain, Aconcagua, is in the Andes.
Indeed they are lovely, and so that is why I'd like to direct you to this nice little photo essay over at National Geographic that features a bunch of great pics of the Andes. Rather than hike these massive peaks, however, Henry von Wartenberg covered some 5,000 miles on his motorcycle, cruising along mountain passes through four countries in five weeks. From the salt flats and the altiplano to Lake Titicaca, Bolivia, the series here actually conjured up some vivid memories for me.
Permalink | Email this | Comments
The Skinny on Fat Tires
check out the preview for Hot Bike Magazines February 2007 issue
Biking - Dolce & Gabbana whip it up with crops and corsets
Dolce & Gabbana whip it up with crops and corsets
Reuters India - Biking references were always to the fore, with black latex side panels to grey wool trousers and a pair of goggles with fluorescent orange rims which would have looked good in a Mad Max movie.
