Why do we procrastinate when we
are older?
What is procrastination, really?
Procrastination is actually hesitation caused by the fear of
the results we would get if we did whatever it is we are procrastinating
about. It can either be the fear of success or the fear of failure.
Why is it that you are procrastinating? Figure it out, take
care of it, stop procrastinating. Live a great life!
Good luck!

What is Self-Talk?
Self-talk is what you say to yourself. The silent conversations
you have with yourself every waking second of your life.
Self-talk comes out in the conversations you have with others.
If you don't like what you say to others, watch what you say to
yourself.
What kind of self-talk do YOU have? Are you going to grow older
gracefully with the self-talk you have? If not, get rid of it!

Bad things are happening all the
time.
Good things are happening all the time.
What you are paying attention to controls how your body will feel.
If you are hearing, reading, seeing bad things all the time as
opposed to the good things in life, then that is how your body
will ultimately be feeling. It won't be able to help it.
Just like you can't put a child in a family that yells and curses
all the time and expect her or him to feel happy.
Think about it. Take control of your environment so that you can
live a happy and fulfilled life as you are growing older gracefully.
Give yourself a chance.

Is there anything I can do for you?
Isn't that a lovely question? How many times a day do you say
it?
IS there anything I can do for you? You are never too old to care
about people or to be able to help in some way, even if it's just
in your thougths and prayers.

Hang on to your dreams.
There are times when you think all is lost, but those are the
times to hang on to your dreams.
Dreams keep hope alive and help our lives to have purpose, no
matter how old we are.

Do you know when problems occur?
Problems usually occur when there is a gap between where you are
and where you want to be.
In other words, as soon as you define a goal, you've made a problem
because you don't yet have your goal.
Problems are lessened when goals are stated as projects and a
map of sorts is made to get to the goal. You are never too old
to map out your goals and your future.
That being the case, the minute you make a goal, make plans on
how you can achieve it. You bypass the *problem* area instantly.

When a right-handed person wants to be creative, his or her eyes
usually go to the upper right to construct the project.
Why not try something different? Why not look to your upper right,
then to the center, then to the lower left? Or go in a square?
Shake things up a little. See if you can be even more creative
by moving your eyes around. Feel the change.
The key to growing older is flexibility.
Flexibility in your thoughts and your actions. Learn to be creative,
enjoy life!

Do you know that sometimes we "anchor"
people and we don't even know it?
Visualize this anchor: You're at a funeral. You touch the shoulder
of the widow, look her in the eyes, and say *I am so sorry for
your loss.*
How is she anchored, you ask? When a person is in a deep frame
of mind (grief is definitely one of the deepest) and they are
touched, that same type of touch in the same location, no matter
where she is, will trigger a deep sense of loss, if only fleeting.
Be aware of anchors. If a person is laughing like crazy, that
is another deep state. It's also a good time for an anchor. Put
your face in front of that person's -- not too close, just be
noticeable -- and touch her shoulder and laugh with her. She'll
remember you fondly.

way. Help them enjoy life as much as you do!

Communication is like a dance. Would you purposely go to the left
when your partner needed you to go to the right?
No, right?
Then, if you want to gain rapport, would you purposely speak loudly
when they speak softly or crowd their space when they tend to
shy away from people? I don't think so.
Watch your *partner.* Communicate as they do and enjoy rapport.
Life is meant to be lived with joy and happiness. Helping others
achieve this is a beautiful way to spend your life!

Words. They can build relationships. They can destroy relationships.
What words would you choose to describe your relationship?
Happy? Pain in the butt? Loving? Stressful?
What if you chose to say it was a pain in the butt? If that's
the case, you shouldn't be too surprised if it goes nowhere.
What if you decided to say your relationship was loving?
It might mean the difference between staying together and growing
apart.

Use it or lose it!
Did you know that courage unused, diminishes? That commitment
unexercised, leaves? That passion unexpressed is no longer passion?

Commit to do something every day, and you will find more good
things to commit to.
Every day let your passion grow. Never let it diminish.
Encourage your passion, and watch as you really do grow older
gracefully!

What is the famous sentence that can help you if you are being
held back in your life?
Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do
for your country. (Paraphrased) What can you do to help others?
When we get our minds off of what we want and on to what we can
do for others, what we want usually shows up in our lives. Then
our lives get better and better.

Do you feel stupid? Why not mentally say this to yourself several
times a day: *My mind is like a sponge. I want to know the answer
to everything.*
Guess what? Pretty soon you will have many of the answers, because
your brain will start acting like a sponge and absorbing things
at a rapid pace. Watch as your life gets better and better!

Do you think of your life as a *Do-it-yourself*
project?
If not, why not?
If you hand the responsibility of your life over to others, then
they are living your life for you. Does that make your life something
you can be proud of? Probably not.
Start today with a *Do-it-yourself* project. Then, start tomorrow
with another one. And so on and so on. It may not be what you
want at first, but with practice it will be. Watch as you blossom
into a new beginning every day!

Do you know the power of self-talk?
Pretend your brain is on your shoulder.
Now, it can only hear what you tell it. It can't hear what others
are telling you. It can only hear what you are thinking and saying.
It doesn't matter what others are telling you if you don't believe
them. You filter what they say and that's what your brain hears.
Does it hear, *I don't believe that. How can anyone think I'm
pretty?* *Growing old is the pits.* *How can anyone possibly want
my opinion? I'm so stupid.* Whatever you are thinking, your brain
is listening. What if you said, *I'm getting better every day.*?
Your brain has no idea what you are talking about, so it just
goes about making you better at the things you do. You've just
given yourself a chance. Watch as you grow older gracefully!

Do you know what the best kept secret of a successful life is?
Your brain doesn't know the difference between something real
and something repeatedly and vividly imagined.
Did you have an experience that wasn't good? Why not get your
brain busy seeing vividly, and repeatedly, a better experience.
When your brain tries to think about the *real* experience, shift
immediately to your visualization of a better experience. Do that
continuously. Pretty soon, your thoughts will just go to the visualization,
erasing the old memory and replacing it with the new one, giving
you hope.
Remember, the
more you say "it", the more you think "it",
the more you attract it! Do you want it in your life? And it is
YOUR life.

Remember this for your New Year's Resolution. Every cause brings
its effect. Every action has a consequence.
What does that mean?
If you plant apples, you'll reap apples. If you plant goodness,
you'll reap goodness. Start your new year out planting lots of
goodness. (Hm. Why wait till the new year? Why not start now so
it will be firmly in place for the new year?)
Smile as you reap the rewards.
Look at every action you make. What will it bring you? If you
don't like what it will bring you, ultimately, then start finding
new actions to use. Watch as your life changes!
